Red eyed Robin

Went photo shooting the other day... didn't get jaw dropping shots but this one did catch my eye.. does anyone know anything about birds? is this some sort of mutant red eyed robin?! I've never seen a red robin with red eyes....

it looks to be one of those robins that smokes weed. they are known to get blood shot eyes after smoking.

there is a little button on your camera just for RED EYE REDUCTION! what would the camera have done if that was on???
